Sustainable Valentines Day Gifts

February 1, 2022 · In: Just Lifestyle

Happy Valentines Day! The sweet season one love, and truly one of my favorites because I get to spoil my friends and hubby! With Valentine’s Day being such a consumption holiday though, in today’s post I wanted to share sustainable gifts that you can curate for your loved ones this holiday. From thrifted gift baskets to creating your own old school cards from magazine cutouts. Grab your creative caps and let’s spread the love!

Blow your valentine away with your sustainable gifts!

Boozy Basket

This is one of my favorites! All you’ll need for your boozy basket is a thrifted basket (wicker, plastic, repurposed pot), thrifted wine glasses, and your favorite sustainably sourced wine for a basket of fun! Pop a few bars of Tony’s chocolate in there and you’re ready to gift this basket to your special someone! On average, I’d say this gift would run you roughly $30-$50 once you add the wine and chocolate! You can also do this with tea for a cute vintage tea set, your SO’s favorite beverage, or any drink in your basket!

Second Hand Bouquet

Have you ever seen the silk flowers at the thrift stores? A fun way to say “I love you” this Valentine’s Day is to take some of these and arrange a chic arrangement that your SO can look at all year long! Need some inspiration on what flowers to look for? Head over to Pinterest and search DIY Valentine’s Bouquets for fun options. I also do a fabulous walk through on my Pinterest pin below!

Made With Love Cards

Fun Fact: I am an AVID postcard sender! One of my favorite types of postcards I receive are the handmade ones. They are so fun to make and send, and bring a little joy to the receivers mailbox! You can do the old school collages with magazine cutouts from magazines at the thrift store. Or try something a little more modern with a minimalist look! Some thrift stores have a craft section that you can shop from, or if you have a local reuse store, you can shop there! Need some design ideas? Head over to Pinterest to find inspiration for your cards.

Looking for something new?

While thrifting is an amazing option for sustainable gift giving. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea! Or you may not have access to a thrift store where you can find great thrifted items for gifts. These sustainable brands have a perfect selection of sustainably made items that you will love gifting to your SO, Besties, or even yourself!
