Free Pattern Websites

Welcome back to the blog! If you’ve been following on Tik Tok and Instagram for the past two months, you may have noticed I’ve been sharing more sewing content! Part of sewing a garment is having a pattern. If you’ve been sewing for a while, or even are a novice, you may find that patterns can get pricey! So in today’s blog post, I am sharing my top 3 places to get FREE sewing patterns for you to download and sew!

Mood Sewciety

This takes first place in my book just due to the sheer size of the free pattern library they offer. From leisure wear, evening gowns, activewear, and more. Mood Sewciety blog is the perfect place for beginners and advanced sewists alike to put their skills to the test. Plus, every pattern comes with a list of materials that you can buy from mood.com or your local craft store! These patterns are also a lot of fun to learn how to add or take away features like adding a sleeve or shortening a pant or dress pattern. So far I’ve made the Linden Sleepwear set and the Kiri Dress!

The Essentials Club

This site is more self led tutorials, but is a great place to start if you are looking for more of a DIY sewing route. From a beginner sewing guide all the way to sewing tutorials you can follow to create your own unique DIY wardrobe! The Essentials Club also has a Tik Tok famous bucket hat that you can download and sew in a little over an hour! I personally have my eye on the DIY Shift Jumpsuit. It’s the perfect lounge around the house jumpsuit!

Peppermint Mag

If Mood Sewciety had a little sister, it would be Peppermint Mag! Another great resource for free beginner friendly sewing patterns to add to your collection. You can also subscribe to the full magazine and get even MORE patterns sent to you with every issue! With each pattern comes a brief description, followed by the donate to keep free button. You don’t have to donate, but donations help keep the free patterns coming! I have my eyes on the Spring Shorts, another great short to add to my Texas wardrobe!

Looking to get updates on even more free patterns?

I’ve got a newsletter that comes out once a month that pulls together a few of my favorite Sustainable and sewing finds all in one place! You’ll love these one of a kind finds, articles, and patterns that inspire me to create my own items!

The 32 Hour Dress

The draped dress I made in a week and basically sewed for 32 hours over the course of 4 days. It was crazy, intense, but omfg it’s beautiful.
